Welcome
Welcome to my new blog site!
For several years running Mac OS X on Intel hardware have been a dream that I have tried to achieve, and in part I did achieve it, but not natively. I was able to run both Mac OS X Panther and Tiger previously using PearPC (PPC), VMWare (VMW) and CherryOS. But after the decision of the Apple company to allow their Mac OS X system to run on Intel based hardware I was finally able to make this dream come true and be able to write this guide.
In here I have posted a detailed guide on how I was able to do a successful install of OSx86 on a Gateway Tablet PC, and also how to get a working dual boot (Windows Tablet 2005 and Mac OS X 10.4.7 and 10.4.8) natively.
I have decided to divide the guide in small sections and separated by categories, that will allow you to follow this guide easily and get the most out of it. Here is a list of the what is included:
- Requirements
- Pre-configuration
- Paperclip/Staple Trick
- Mac Install
- B0 Boot Error Fix (if needed)
- Dual Boot Configuration
- Fixing Close Lid bug
- Fixing Battery Display
- Fixing Wireless via USB
- Updating to 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 (Very Important, read)
- Front Row
- To-Do List
- Picture Gallery
- Software Fixes (NEW)
- Links
Notice that this guide may also work on other types of PCs, but have only been tested specifically for my Gateway M280E Tablet PC. If you use it for another type of PC and it works, feel free to share that with me and all the readers of this guide, using the “Successful Installs” blog’ located on the Miscellaneous category. You can also post thanks notes, comments about the site, and recommendations on the “Thanks/Recomendations” blog, also inside the Miscellaneous category.
New: I have created a new category on my blog that contains a series of blogs that will allow support discussions related to this guide. There are currently 5 topics, which are things that I have not got to work, and are included on my To-Do-List page. Feel free to post on them, but only post content related to the specific topics. If there is something else you want to be included and discussed contact me.
Thanks for the visit, and good luck on the install process!
